Miguel Campaneria
Artistic Director, Ballet Master

Mr. Campaneria was born in Cuba and was trained at the National Ballet School of Cuba under the guidance of Alicia Alonso, Fernando Alonso and Azari Plisetski.  He joined the National Ballet of Cuba and was promoted to soloist at the age of 17.  He won the Bronze Medal in the Junior category at the prestigious International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria.  He also partnered with Alicia Alonso in Marguerite, Armand and other ballets. 

Upon leaving Cuba,  Mr. Campaneria danced with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, The Pennsylvania Ballet, The Harkness Ballet, America Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Ballets de San Juan. 

Mr. Campaneria has over 45 years of dance experience as a Principal Dancer, guest artist, choreographer and artistic director in various well established ballet companies all over the world.  In 2007 President Georg W. Bush appointed Mr. Campaneria to serve on the National Endowment of the Arts Council (NEA).

In August 2008, Mr. Campaneria was appointed the chair of dance at The Hartt School Community Division.

For over 20 years, Mr. Campaneria has been invited to Japan, serving four schools as Artistic Advisor, coach, choreographer and selective liaison bringing professional artists from the U.S. to perform in his ballet productions in Japan.  Additionally, Mr. Campaneria has been strategic in training talented international students from abroad in his programs here in the United States.  Since 2010, Mr. Campaneria has been Artistic Director and Ballet Master coaching pre-professional students and professional dancers in the state of North Carolina.  He currently has over twenty former students who are working in professional companies all around the world. 

Under his professional coaching, numerous students have competed in many world competitions and won top places in both Classical and Contemporary Ballet categories.  In addition, he has been awarded “The Outstanding Teacher Award” by the Youth America Grand Prix in 2012 and 2013.  In 2014, Mr. Campaneria provided the opportunity and selected top students to perform abroad, dancing leading roles which provided not only invaluable dance experience and exposure to the students but tremendous personal cultural enrichment. 

In September 2015, Mr. Campaneria established a permanent home in his own school in Cary, North Carolina - Campaneria Ballet School.

Robin George
Mini and Teeny Company Director; Ballet, Tap, Jazz

Robin has been a student of tap, jazz, and ballet since the age of four. She grew as a dancer in her home studio from a student to teacher’s assistant and onto becoming a choreographer and performance company director. She has studied tap and jazz at Chi-Town Jazz Dance (Evanston, IL), Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Center as well as attending annual national workshops and conventions. Her journeys have taken her to several highly respected studios in Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida where she gained more experience as a director and instructor/choreographer with particular focus on ages three to eight. Robin’s most recent teaching experience was with Gulfshore Ballet in Fort Meyers, Florida, where she taught ballet, tap, and jazz. She was the primary instructor for their very successful Pre-Ballet program. Choreography credits include several award winning jazz and tap pieces. Most recently, she choreographed a jazz production piece for six to ten year olds as part of a holiday concert event with the Southwest Florida Symphony. 

Beth Peele
Tap

Beth Peele received her B.S. in Dance Education from UNC-Greensboro. She has taught dance in the greater Raleigh area since 1996. Beth is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance, but tap is her specialty. She enjoys combining her love of both dance and music in the rhythmic, percussive dance form. Beth attended Temple University as a dance major. She was the tap director at Pierrette Sadler Danceurs Studio in Raleigh for ten years where she trained hundreds of students, many of whom have gone on to professional careers in dance. Beth has been a guest tap artist, judged national dance competitions, and received awards for her tap choreograph

Brianna Cooper
Jazz
Brianna graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Dance Performance from East Carolina University. During her time at ECU she performed in several faculty works, student choreographed shows, at multiple ACDFA events, and with guest artists including Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and Madeline Reber. During her time at ECU and after graduating in 2011, she continued her training at the American Dance Festival. For two years she had the privilege to perform and work with La Bella Vita Arts based in Livorno, Italy. Recently, she has been performing, touring, and collaborating with NC based artists including Code f.a.d. Company, Natalie Marrone & The Dance Cure, KT COLLECTIVE, Masha Maddux, and OmGrown Dancers.
Brianna also has a passion for educating young dancers. In addition to teaching and doing freelance choreography for private studios throughout the region, she is currently the Jazz and Contemporary Company Director at Destiny Dance Institute and Co-Director of The Campaneria Ballet School Ensemble. She has also worked with undergraduate students as a guest instructor at The Tuscan Summer Dance Intensive and Duke University. When she is not dancing, Brianna works in group fitness and as a certified Pilates Instructor. She holds certifications from the American Council on Exercise as a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.
Courtney Om
Contemporary

Ms. Om hails from Toronto, Canada and is full-time dancer, choreographer and dance educator, internationally and in the United States. Her professional training includes Ryerson University, BFA Dance program and The Conteur Academy, a contemporary conservatory, where she graduated in 2013.   She has trained with such notables as Sidra Bell, Alexandra Wells, Gerri Houlihan, Abby Zbikowski, Shannon Gillen, and Kate Hutter. Courtney has worked internationally as a dancer and choreographer. Her professional work in the United States began in 2014 with Code F.A.D Dance Company, The KT Collective, BELLAN Performance Dance Theater and Gaspard and Dancers.  As a choreographer, Courtney began producing work in the USA in 2014 at the SARUS festival in Wilmington, NC. Here, she began receiving recognition for her choreographic works.  Courtney established OM grown dancers in 2016. In the company's first year, Courtney successfully created an evening length work titled The EVOL//you//TION inFULL, which premiered in June of 2017. The company travelled both locally and internationally sharing the creation with communities near and far. 

Karen Olsen
Ms. Olsen received her ballet training at the School of American Ballet in New York City, where she attended on a Ford Foundation Scholarship for four years. There she studied under such ballet greats as Antonia Tumkovsky, Alexandra Danilova, Stanley Williams and Suki Shorer. Upon graduation she joined New York City Ballet as an apprentice where she performed in such Ballanchine ballets as Theme and Variations, Symphony in C, Jewels and others. Ms. Olson has performed in various cities across the U.S. and Europe and has appeared as guest artist with London Ballet Theatre, Maximum Dance Company and Miami Youth Ballet. For the past 25 years, Ms Olson has taught Ballet for various schools, including the prestigous Gulliver Academy.  She designed the award winning preschool dance program in Dade County, Florida, for Headstart. Currently, Ms. Olson resides in Cary with her husband, Pat, and her three children.
Kiley O'Donnell
Ballet, Tap, Jazz Mommy and Me

Kiley has been dancing since the age of seven and has danced with Campaneria Ballet School for two years. She is a junior at Panther Creek High School and is on the dance team there.  Kiley has been a teacher assistant for 4 years, but this is her first year teaching! She teaches ballet, tap, and jazz for ages 2-6 and Mommy and Me here at Campaneria Ballet School.

Natalie Thibodeaux
Ballet, Pro Professional Program, Company
Natalie began her ballet training with Pacific Northwest Ballet School in her hometown of Seattle before moving to Philadelphia and attending The Rock School through her high school years. She spent her summers in numerous prestigious intensives across the US, including School of American Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Kirov Ballet Academy, Pacific Northwest Ballet, IBStage in Barcelona, Spain and of course the Rock School for Dance Education. She received full merit scholarships to every school she attended, year round and for summers. Through her participation in YAGP she received a trainee position at Ballet West in 2012 and was later offered a position in 2015 with Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam, where she performed as a corp member. Following her love of teaching, she joined the Rock School’s teaching faculty for two years leading up to her move to North Carolina where she continues to teach.
